dear leandro,

a) you should post this to the _VMD_ mailing list. ;-)

b) check out the linux release notes. there are a few
special issues with different linux distributions.

c) you should make sure to follow the installation instructions
(edit configure to point to installation directory, 
run ./configure, cd src, make install) and and check
that there are no errors during installation.
