is the machine running a 32-bit or a 64-bit kernel?
most likely the latter. try 'uname -p' and see if
it says 'x86_64', in which case you need to use
one of the AMD64 configs or use -DPOINTER8

what's wrong with it? The Makefile is attached here.The platform I used was PC-
IFC-P4. And the hardware of machine is
please don't attach the whole makefile, but only the config part (see
the previous segfault discussion). please also note, that you are not
compiling for parallel.
