Software Engineer - Portland, OR
A technology leader specializing in software solutions for the life
sciences, is looking for an experienced software engineer to design,
develop, and maintain graphical user interface, graphical molecular display
and related visualization tools. Basically, they are seeking either need a
strong graphics person who has some chemistry background or a strong
chemistry person who has some graphics skills. Here are the details:
Development is primarily on Linux with additional development on Windows.
Current software development involves C++, C, OOP, Motif, X Windows, and
OpenGL.
Strong proven experience in graphical user interface design and development,
C++, and object-oriented software design is required. A four-year degree,
commercial software development experience, and the ability to work and
communicate effectively in a distributed work environment are also required.
The ideal candidate will possess the desire and ability to play a leading
role in specific product areas of graphical user interface. X/Motif
development experience is strongly preferred. Familiarity with
bioinformatics or computational chemistry methods, and graphical user
interface toolkits/API's (in addition to X/Motif) is a strong plus.
