[CPMD-list] Announcement: Tutorial "Quantum Simulation of Liquids and Solids"

Dear CPMD users,

We would like to draw your attention on a course/tutorial  addressing the
topic of "Quantum Simulations of Liquids and Solids".

The course is aimed at giving an introduction in the simulation of
electronic structure in condensed phase materia, solids and
liquids. It will be held at CECAM (Lyon,France) from Oct. 30 2006 to
Nov. 10 2006.  The course will have an equal amount of lectures and
practicals. The practicals involve excercises with CPMD and other
packages.

The course targets PhD students, postdocs, or other researchers that
started or intend to start simulations in the specified field. This CECAM
tutorial has been held for severeal years having typically 30 attendents.

There is substantial financial support for travel and accomodation provided
by an EU Marie-Curie grant.

The closing date for registration is september 30, 2006.
