Mississippi School of Pharmacy Seeks a Postdoctoral Research
Associate

The Department of Medicinal Chemistry has an opening for a
Postdoctoral Research Associate to work in the laboratory of
Prof. Robert J. Doerksen (cf.

Qualifications: A theoretical or computational Ph.D. in
chemistry, biology, pharmaceutical sciences or related
field. The best qualified candidate will have experience and
excellence in many of the following: Car-Parrinello
molecular dynamics, molecular dynamics; enzyme-catalyzed
reactions; QM/MM; structure based drug design; Unix OS,
including scripting; computer programming. Excellent written
and oral communication skills and an outstanding publication
record are necessary.

Duties:  To perform cutting-edge research applying
Car-Parrinello and mixed QM/MM methods to detailed dynamic
studies of enzyme-catalyzed reactions relevant to human
health and drug design. The duties will include writing
manuscripts for publication, presenting research results at
national and international meetings, and working as a part
of a team carrying out research together with PhD and
undergraduate students. The position is for one year, with
extension to a second year conditional on mutual agreement.
