[CPMD-list] problems with TDDFT geometry optimizatioin

Dear Eneritz,

we found for many systems that TDDFT has a serious problem at
90 degrees (independent of the implementation). Restricted 
Open-Shell Kohn-Sham theory can be a nice alternative to get
good geometries even at this difficult point (CPMD keyword 
LOW SPIN EXCITATION, JCP 108, 4060 (1998), JCP 119, 11574 (2003)).
Attached are a sample input and output (functional with
Version 3.9.2, you need the keyword MODIFIED GOEDECKER).

A few remarks:
- ROKS energies are redshifted with respect to TDDFT.
- Excited state SCF does not always converge as easily as ground
state SCF. In hard cases you may have to change the algorithm
(e.g. start with PCG MINIMIZE and continue with ODIIS).
- The modified Goedecker SCF algorithm formally applies to undegenerate
states and may fail with the default parameters if a degeneracy 
is reached. Always check the orbitals (one of the singly occupied 
orbitals should look similar to the ground state HOMO) and 
(in an MD run) the conservation of total energy.
