Post-doctoral position in Theoretical Chemistry

Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position in the group
of Prof. Juerg Hutter at the Physical Chemistry Institute of
the University of Zurich (http://www.unizh.ch/pci).
The position is available starting from January 2005 for a
period of one year, extendable to two years.
The successful candidate will work on the development and
application of new algorithms for the calculation of electronic
properties of materials within the framework of Density Functional Theory.
The goal of the first year of the project is the implementation of
a method based on linear response for the efficient and accurate
computational prediction of NMR spectra of realistically large model
systems, with special attention to bio-systems.



Applicants should have or be about to obtain a PhD in physics, material
science, chemistry or in related fields.
A good experience in computer modeling and in electronic
structure calculations are highly preferred.
Interest in algorithmic/mathematical development and scientific
programming ability, including parallel programming, are desired.
