yes it is. and despite not having compiled for openmp, you _are_ using 
only one thread. only if you compile with openmp enabled _and_ set 
OMP_NUM_THREADS to appropriately, you will see a different number
there. there is not much point in adding an extra define to CPPFLAGS 
for openmp compilations simply to conditionally compile out this text.
