hi, 

unless you provide us with some output leading up to this, 
nobody can tell. segmentation faults can happen, due to programming
errors, not properly formatted input or pseudopotenial 
files, features in cpmd that are not working, or
a cpmd calculation that has become unstable (e.g. due to a too large
timestep).
